Have I been dismissed unfairly?

I left a job 5 weeks ago to start work with this employer I was told the job was mine subject to a months trial (I was there in total 5 weeks) I went to work on monday everything was fine on tuesday I had to take my child to the doctors so I phoned them and they seemed fine they had enough cover is what they said so I went in at the end of the day so they could see that I was not taking them for a ride but I was asked to sit and was told they would have to pay me off as it was too quiet I have not yet received any monies as I have to pick this up tomorrow so I don't know how much they intend to pay me that is if they are going to from what I have heard they are a bit dodgy wheni t comes to this I did not sign a contract when I started they knew I was a single mother and they knew I was leaving a job to work for them if I do not recieve anything as reduncancy pay am I able to take this any further.
