RHH: Why isn't Ghostface Killah in the GOAT conversation?
There are many people I have known who's hip-hop opinion I greatly respect who think very highly of ghostface, so I accept that there are ways in which he is great...but I just don't get it. I've listened to his verses many times, I've looked up the lyrics to numerous tracks and read them, but something about him as an MC just doesn't click with me. His verse on "impossible" is in my top 5 verses of all-time BUT on virtually every other track I find myself just wanting his verse to be over. I don't like his voice, I don't like his delivery, I don't like his slang, I don't like his rhyme-structuring, virtually none of his lines stick in my mind as being quotable...I just don't like him. So to answer your question, he doesn't often come up in GOAT conversations because I think there's a lot of people who feel the way I do.
