Is my ex husband entitled to my inheritance?

I divorced last year, but at the time we didn't sort out the marital home finances. I would now like my name off the mortgage and any monies that I am entitled too. My ex says my inheritance must be taken into consideration and has offered me a paltry sum. Can he do this?
